Community Connections

The University Club of Rockford attempts to give back to our community whenever
possible. One of our foremost programs is the U Club Scholarship program.

The University Club of Rockford annually offers three, four-year scholarships to
deserving students from the Rockford area. A trust fund has been created with Alpine
Bank as Trustee. Each year, a scholarship committee, of which a member of the Board
of Directors is chairman, chooses the recipients of the scholarships from the graduating
classes of the public and parochial senior high schools in Rockford or the area within
ten miles thereof. A deposit in the amount of four-year scholarships is made with the Trustee, and payments are made upon the authorization of the scholarship chairman for each semester thereafter during such four-year period so long as such recipient continues to be scholastically eligible.

Members and associates are also encouraged to make tax deductible contributions to the scholarship trust each year, with a view to making the program self-supporting and also possibly to increase the amount and number of the awards.
